MOVE is hosting three workshops on the topics of R&D and Technology Transfer, Prospective payment and healthcare provision and Judgement Aggregation.

MOVE researchers are organizing the three first MOVE scientific events on November and December 2009. The workshops will take place at the fantastic Casa de la Convalescència, part of the Hospital de Sant Pau modernist complex, in downtown Barcelona.  Read more... 

MOVE Workshop on R&D and Technology Transfer (13-14 of November) organized by David Perez Castrillo and Stefano Trento (MOVE and UAB), and Reinhilde Veugelers (KU Leuven). The goal of the workshop is to identify and analyze economic and policy issues related to the financing of R&D and technology transfer. A variety of relevant topics will be discussed, including venture capital, university technology transfers, spin-offs, open and mixed source, licensing, spillovers and collaboration between industry and universities.

MOVE Workshop on Prospective payment and healthcare provision (20-21 of November, organized by Pau Olivella (MOVE and UAB). The main objective of the workshop is to build general insights on the design of payment systems, both from a theoretical and an empirical standpoint. Specialists and practitioners who are or have been involved in the design and implementation of actual systems will also provide their point of view in a less academic context.

MOVE – Urrutia Elejalde Workshop on Judgement Aggregation (14-16 of December) organized by Salvador Barberà and Miguel Angel Ballester (MOVE and UAB) and Juan Carlos García Bermejo (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid). The workshop is co-organized by MOVE and the Urrutia Elejalde Foundation and focuses on analyzing the basic results and theories on Judgement Aggregation. The meeting constitutes an opportunity to discuss in detail the origins, the main contributions and the potential of this topic for economists.
