MOVE provides a dynamic, varied and rich environment that promotes creativity and collaboration amongst its fellows to encourage high-quality research. There are fellowship opportunities at all career levels, offering competitive salaries, significant research resources and professional support to research. MOVE is a public non-profit research institute devoted to Economics research, located at the Bellaterra – Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Campus, in the Barcelona metro area.
MOVE is open to accommodate talented researchers holding external grants and fellowships, such as ICREA, Ramón y Cajal, Juan de la Cierva, Becas Ramón Areces, Beatriu de Pinós or mobility fellowships like the European Commission’s Marie Curie Actions. Also, MOVE Research Fellows will be incentivized and supported to apply to these programs.
MOVE Junior Fellows Program
The first MOVE Junior fellows will arrive in September 2010 and will hold a double position as Tenure Track in the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and as Research Fellow at MOVE. The Junior Fellows will conduct research in one or several of MOVE’s areas of expertise, teach doctoral courses at the IDEA PhD program and participate in the academic life of MOVE and the Bellaterra Campus. MOVE can ask for further levels of commitment, like the coordination of ordinary programs or the creation and management of special projects. MOVE offers administrative support and fund-rising assistance to its members, and special benefits to fellows holding extra responsibilities.
MOVE Visiting Fellows Program
MOVE provides opportunities for economists at all career levels to visit MOVE and the Unit of Economic Analysis (UFAE) (link) of the UAB, two work in tight collaboration with MOVE researchers in its three areas of expertise. MOVE visitors will participate in the academic life of the institute and the UFAE and may be eligible to teach doctoral courses or give seminars. Visitors can give doctoral courses at the IDEA PhD program. The Visiting Fellows program is coordinated through an open call, to which any interested researcher can apply, and an internal call, where MOVE Fellows propose potential incoming visitors.
The Visiting fellows program is divided between short and long term (below or above one month) and junior or senior fellows. Specific calls will be published in due time.
